Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon Hamilton

On Sunday the 19th of February my sister and I did The Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlon in Hamilton. On the drive there, it rained, when we got there it rained, when my sister did her race, it rained,  and finally when I did my race at the end of the day, it obviously rained. So you could imagine how much mud was on the course couldn't you. If you can’t well then there is something wrong with you.

When we got there we had to put all of our gear in transition. It was my sister's first time doing it and she was very excited and nervous at the same time. I have been doing the Tryathlon for 3 years. This year my colour was purple.

When we were finished putting our gear in transition we got our Breakfast from the Weet-Bix tent. As I said I was the last race so I had to wait all day in the pouring rain. When my race started it wasn’t muddy at all (because I was in the pool). When I got out of the pool it was like it rained for thirty days and thirty nights. It was sooooo muddy. The bike was a breeze, but then I realised I went too hard on the bike and I got a huge stitch on the run. When I came over the finish line I felt very very tired because I sprinted past Callum C.

If I could go back in history...

October 1st,
1941:

I would be flying over Europe in my new Spitfire. I am on my way to the battle field and a bullet whizzes past my cockpit.I look back and see a Luftwaffe rite on my tail. I pull back and the Luftwaffe fly's rite past me and I open fire. The first bullet misses but the other hits it rite in the middle of the left engine. It starts descending slowly so I fire a two missiles, one misses and the other gets it rite in the back side. It starts plummeting to the ground. Five seconds later I hear an explosion.

I am coming towards the battle field with my RAF squadron and the enemy planes are just up ahead. As we get closer I give permission to fire and the front line of the Axis falls away. We keep firing until they are so close we have to pull up and turn around.

Most of them have been shot down but there are still some left and they seem to be the leaders of the bunch. We fought until the end of the day and we lost two men.

When we got back to headquarters the Air Chief Marshall congratulated us on our mission and said "Gear up for the next mission, you have forty winks and then your back in the air...

The best weekend ever

On the Saturday of best weekend ever it would be a nice, sunny day. I would be going to Jump with my family and one friend. We would spend an hour and a half there, jumping and flipping. When we finish we would get an ice cream from the dairy and sit in the park and eat them.

On Sunday I would be going to a swimming meet in Hamilton. I would be doing 50m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 50m Breaststroke, 100m IM and 200m Breaststroke. I would win all of my Breaststroke and come second in my IM and 50m Freestyle .At the end of the day we would come home and Mum would cook my favourite pasta dish.

Business Card

Today we had to make business Cards. I made my card on Google Drawings. My picture was of a shamrock. On the card I had to write my name, email, blog address, teachers name and email, the school website and the Marama Twitter Handle. Mine looks like this...

Genrating Ideas

This week we are doing rotations. I especially liked the rotation with Mrs Hull. We had to write down what we were curious about, words about us, our likes and loves and what we do when we are not at school. Next we went on a website called Tagul. We copied and pasted words on a chart and they came up on the picture of my face and it turned out like this.

One word to describe 2017

#Fantastic2017

I think this year is going to be Fantastic, because last year was pretty average. So far this year I have had good luck. I have moved up a swimming group and came 1st overall in the 200 meter breaststroke for my age group.

What Drives Me

The people that drive me are people who encourage me to keep going when the going gets tough. They can help me through words of encouragement and by answering my questions (not like my maths questions).

The treaty of Waitangi

The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on March the 6th of February 1840. The Treaty was signed so no one could buy private land and have peace between Mauri and Pakiha. The three key words that were said to describe the Treaty were Sincerity, Justice and Good Faith. There were two Treaty's an English and Mauri. An other example of a Treaty now would be a contract.

Learning Smarts

I have learnt that I am mostly Bodily-Kinesthetic and Linguistic. I wasn't surprised that I was low on Logical-Mathematical. I also wasn't surprised that I had a pretty high score on Musical. I think this will have a big impact on my learning because I know how I learn. I have found out that Bodily-Kinesthetic means I like sport and being active.
